About me.

I fell in love with science and mathematics as a kid, and I try to bring that same curiosity and enthusiasm to the students I work with. I earned my degree in chemistry from the University of Oregon, where I first began tutoring students in general and organic chemistry. I’ve continued tutoring in chemistry and mathematics ever since, alongside eight years teaching middle and high school science in NYC independent schools.

My years in the classroom have shaped a student-centered approach to tutoring. I focus on figuring out how each student thinks, identifying where they’re getting stuck, and finding a way to make difficult concepts click. My goal isn’t simply to get through the next assignment or test, but to help students become more confident and independent learners.

Education

University of Oregon

Bachelor of Science in Chemistry - June 2012

I pursued chemistry as an undergraduate at the University of Oregon. In addition to my course load I performed undergraduate research in Dr. David Tyler’s lab. My project was investigating the nucleation and growth dynamics of Titania nanoparticles. This involved air free chemistry and transmission electron microscopy for imagining and analysis of samples.
